A Visit From The Dean I, Spy

"Evidence" is the 12th episode of Carmilla. It aired on September 9th, 2014.

Laura brings us up to date with her investigation and receives some uninvited guests before delving deeper into her suspicions surrounding Carmilla.

Ep12 2

But the interesting thing is about five feet behind them where Carmilla is at a swim team party.

After discovering the picture of Carmilla with Elsie, Laura locates more pictures that show Carmilla at the parties where the girls went missing. Laura realizes that Elsie is one of the girls who had been kicked out of the dorm before. Laura immediately pounces on the lead, looking for more evidence that can link Carmilla, Elsie and the missing girls together.

Ep12 5

Why are you wearing war paint?

During her musings, faint sounds of a mob fighting begin to make their way towards her, and Danny storms into the room, locking the door behind her and asking if anyone got in. Alleviating Laura's confusion, she explains that a massive brawl broke out between the Summer Society sorority and the Zeta Omega Mu fraternity as a result of an argument about who will protect the campus going wrong. She showed up to ensure Laura's safety.

Ep12 6

Come on! Why are the hotties in this room always trying to hurt me?!

Kirsch begins knocking on the door, and Laura lets him in, despite Danny's protests. Both Summer and Zeta begin to argue over who would be better suited to protect the campus, but Laura defuses their argument by stating they can't protect anyone if they, and by extension their respective social groups, are fighting. Both agree to attempt to defuse the brawl outside and leave.

Ep12 8

And then there was this little girl crying.

Laura prepares for bed, shutting things down and falling asleep, being awoken by a nightmare. She explains what happened to wake her up, specifically, a dream where a dark figure was underneath her bed and that crying permeated the air. She attempted to hide under her blanket, but the darkness enveloped her. A moment later, an ominous thumping begins to emanate through the room.

Cultural ReferencesEdit

  • Laura makes a reference to Voldemort - the main antagonist of the Harry Potter series.
  • Kirsch mentions Mark of Kingsberry rules. He incorrectly referred to the Marquess of Queensberry rules, the code most commonly accepted for boxing.

Laura: I may have no idea what's going on here, but it seems pretty damn clear that my sleeps all day, chocolate pinching replacement roommate is up to her ultra thick eyeliner in it. And if she is, well... confronting her has historically been about as effective as using bug spray on Voldemort.

Laura: So, do I start not only surveilling her but actively investigating my own roommate, completely disregarding anything like interpersonal boundaries and essentially stalking her? (Smugly) We started yesterday.

Kirsch: (knocking on the door) Hey little nerd! Laura! Are you in there?
Laura: Oh, you've got to be kidding me. (walks to door to let him in)
Danny: Laura? Laura! What are you doing?!
Laura: It's only Kirsch! (opens door) We're fine.
Kirsch: I was really worried about you because-
Danny: (Grabs him by the ear and drags him into the room)
Kirsch: Wow! Ow, ow, ow, ow, ow, ow, ow, ow!
Laura: Danny, geez!
Kirsch: Come on! Why are the hotties in this room always trying to hurt me?!
Danny: Karma?

Kirsch: Uncool Summer Psycho. Not Mark of Kingsberry rules.
Danny: That's boxing, dumbass!

Kirsch: If you weren't such a hottie you'd be in big, big trouble.
Danny: (Pushes him and raises fists) Bring it, popped collar.
