Tythia is the Queen of the Sidhe, Lady of the Blood Moon and Mother of Transformation, or simply said a Fairy Queen. Years ago she was trapped inside a bloodwood tree by a jealous rival and was supposed to stay there forever. But at some point the tree got cut down and its wood was made into a sculpture that ended up at Silas University still with Tythia inside.
Lola Perry, who was obsessed with Wicca a year before the events of the first season, held the sculpture while she made a wish and hence accidentally releasing Tythia. Tythia then used her magic to prevent female students at Silas from having their periods and transforming male students into animals to gather power and rebuild her kingdom.
Carmilla Karnstein, Perry, and Melanippe Callis managed to identify Tythia, when Mel connected Wilson Kirsch being transformed into a donkey with a character that had served as a inspiration for Titania from Shakespeare's Midsummer Night's Dream. They summoned Tythia with the intention of sealing her back in the wood, but not before she granted Mel her wish of becoming the perfect Summer and promise Carmilla she would met her match.
